California Modern Edible
A STYLIZED landscape for a highly modernized remodeled 1950’s bungalow
The front entry boasts a simple and stylish planting palette matching the modern architecture of the house and red window frames. A rainwater and grey water system hydrates the fruiting olives, ornamental grasses and flowering habitat species The kitchen doors open to an intimate breakfast deck with focal water feature, raised culinary herb planters and mixed espalier citrus to soften the space and add scent and seasonal interest. The deck extends beyond and connects with a separate lounge area for entertaining larger parties. Vegetable planters cleverly separate the deck from the main backyard area. A central rusted steel planter and shade pergola clothed in table grapes anchor the space. The surrounding beds are filled with beautiful flowering species, berries, succulents and several fruit trees.
